Feeding one neighbourhood at a time
Why we open one area at a time instead of the whole city at once.
When we started in 2013, we covered four blocks of the city centre. Not because we had to, but because dense coverage is the whole point.
A delivery service is only fast if the kitchen and the customer are close together, and the rider isn’t wasting time on long trips. The smaller the area, the shorter the legs, the hotter the food.
Today we cover eight neighbourhoods in Trondheim. Each new area is added only once we have enough kitchens and enough riders to keep the thirty-minute promise — not before.
It means we grow more slowly than we could. We think it is worth it. A customer who gets cold food once rarely orders again.
