About us

We started with four blocks and one promise.

WoodyWood Packers has been delivering food in Trondheim since 2013. The model has always been the same: collect fresh food from the best kitchens, and bring it home before it has time to go cold.

The story

How it began

In 2013 nobody delivered hot food fast in Trondheim. There were pizza riders and there were restaurants, but nobody tying kitchens and riders together into one fast service.

We started small — four blocks of the city centre, three kitchens, five riders on bikes. The rules were simple: only take on an area when we could cover it properly, and never promise faster than we could actually manage.

Thirteen years on, the principles are the same. We cover eight neighbourhoods, work with around twenty kitchens and have more than sixty riders on the payroll. We could have grown faster. We have chosen not to.

The mission

Make good food something you can have any time — hot.

We don’t think people should have to choose between cooking everything themselves and going to a restaurant. A good meal should be able to come to your door on an ordinary Tuesday, made by people who know how, and still be hot when it knocks.

What is a cloud kitchen?

A kitchen with no dining room

A cloud kitchen is a professional, licensed kitchen that cooks for delivery only. No tables, no waiters, no Friday waiting list. Just chefs, recipes and a hatch where the rider collects.

For the kitchen it means lower rent and full attention on the food. For you it means a small kitchen with one great dish can reach you — without having to run a whole restaurant first.

The kitchens in our network are independent. They set their own menu, do their own buying and own the quality. We own everything that happens once the food is packed.

The riders

Permanent staff, not gig workers

Our riders are employed by us, with an hourly wage, sick pay, insurance and e-bikes the company maintains. It costs more than a gig model. In return the riders know the city, know the kitchens and stay — and deliveries become consistent in a way they otherwise would not be.

What guides us

Dense before big

We open one neighbourhood at a time. Fast delivery needs short distances.

Hot food is the whole point

Everything else — the app, the map, the offers — comes after this.

Honest menus

The dish name and the full ingredient list. No surprises on the plate.

People we keep

Employed riders and long-term kitchen partners over fast churn.
