Sustainability
Thirteenth year. New company. The same city to look after.
WoodyWood Packers started thirteen years ago with four blocks and five bikes. Today we are a limited company — WoodyWood Packers AS — with a new website at woodywoodpackersas.com, and we are extending the business with a clear sustainability programme.
A new chapter
From woodywoodpackers.com to woodywoodpackersas.com
We started in 2013 as a small delivery service in the city centre. After thirteen years of steady operation we have taken the step of incorporating as a limited company: WoodyWood Packers AS. It means clearer accountability, tidier finances and a firmer basis for employing people and investing for the long term.
The new company comes with a new website. We have moved from woodywoodpackers.com to woodywoodpackersas.com. All the content is rebuilt, but the team is the same, the city is the same, and the promise is the same: fresh food, delivered hot, faster than anyone else.
Becoming a limited company is also the start of something we have wanted to do for a long time — to measure and improve our environmental footprint systematically, not only when it is convenient.
Why it fits together
Fast delivery and a low footprint pull the same way
Our model has always been about short distances. We open one dense neighbourhood at a time, and the cloud kitchens sit in the middle of the areas they deliver to. Shorter trips mean faster food — and less energy per delivery. Sustainability is not something we bolted on afterwards; it is in the way the service is built.
How we work
Electric riders
Deliveries run on e-bikes and electric scooters. No combustion engine in the last mile, no exhaust on the street where the food arrives.
Short distances
A cloud kitchen in the neighbourhood cuts the distance driven per order. Less transport, fresher food, lower emissions.
Permanent staff
Riders on a wage, with equipment the company maintains. Bikes and scooters are kept running and used for years rather than replaced.
Less food waste
Kitchens cook the dish when the order lands. Producing against real demand means less food in the bin.
Packaging
We review packaging with our kitchen partners and switch to recyclable and renewable materials wherever we can.
Measured work
As a limited company we report key figures each year — energy, distance per delivery and the share of electric trips — and set targets for the next.
Direction of travel
What we are working towards
We do not promise more than we can keep — that has been the rule since 2013. The targets below are where we are heading, and we show the numbers when we report.
- One hundred percent zero-emission delivery in the last mile.
- Recyclable or renewable packaging across the whole menu.
- Equipment that lasts: repair over replacement for bikes and scooters.
- An open annual report on energy, distance and food waste.
