The Tuesday regular
How one family in Bakklandet ended up ordering the exact same thing every Tuesday for two years.
It started as a stopgap. Sara was working late, the kids were hungry, and nobody had the energy to cook. They ordered pizza from Nonna’s Table and katsu for the youngest, who won’t eat tomato.
Two years on it is an institution. “Tuesday is the day of the week when nothing goes to plan,” Sara says. “So we have stopped planning it. We order the same thing, it arrives at the same time, and we eat together at the table.”
She likes that the menu shows the full ingredient list. Her daughter has a nut allergy, and Sara doesn’t have to call and ask every time. “It’s right there. I read it in twenty seconds.”
What they value most is the predictability. “The food is always hot. The rider is always friendly. In two years I have never had a bad Tuesday because of dinner.”
